Jessica (“Beaker”) brings a great deal of experience in tropical conservation, research and marine biology, having worked on a variety of marine expeditions in Indonesia, Fiji, the Bahamas and the Seychelles. She also taught Science and Research at the IslandSchool in Eleuthera, the Bahamas. Jess has a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Bristol, UK, and a Master’s degree, with distinction, in Tropical Coastal Management from the University of Newcastle, UK. Jess holds an IYT/MCA Master of Yachts 200 ton certificate and an STCW 95 certification. Jess is also a PADI Scuba instructor with much experience in underwater survey techniques and is an Emergency First Response Instructor. She joined ActionQuest and Sea|mester in 2004 and teaches Oceanography and Marine Biology on board both Ocean Star and Argo while enjoying thousands of miles of sailing.
